Roof Repair in Austin, TX
Austin is about thirty-five miles from the yard in Taylor, which is inside the radius we work but far enough that we schedule it in blocks rather than dropping in. It is also the one city we cover where the rules, not the house, are usually what shapes the job: tree protection, impervious cover limits and a review queue that moves slower than the Williamson County cities all have to be worked into the plan before anyone picks up a tool.
Central Texas roofs take hail, high summer heat and sudden wind, and most of what we get called to is a roof that has been patched around the symptom rather than the cause. We trace the leak to its actual entry point, check the decking underneath, and tell you honestly whether it is a repair or a replacement.
Three clear layers, and they behave completely differently. The central neighbourhoods — Hyde Park, Rosedale, Travis Heights, Clarksville — are largely 1920s to 1940s bungalows on pier-and-beam, on narrow lots with alley access. A wide 1950s to 1970s ring follows: Allandale, Crestview, Windsor Park, Barton Hills, mostly single-storey brick ranches on slab. Then 1980s onwards further out, where post-tension slabs become the norm and change how plumbing can be rerouted.
Austin runs its own portal and its own review queue, and residential review here genuinely takes longer than the Williamson County cities. Build the wait into the schedule rather than hoping around it. Tree review and, in a historic district, Historic Landmark Commission review run alongside the building permit, so the earlier the drawings are right the shorter the whole thing gets. We handle the application and inspections through City of Austin Development Services Department as part of the job.
What's included
Finding where water actually enters, which is rarely where it appears inside, and checking the decking and framing for existing damage.
A documented condition report with photographs, written so it is useful if you are making an insurance claim.
Shingle, flashing, valley and penetration repairs, including the boots and pipe collars that fail long before the field does.
Tear-off to deck, deck repair where needed, new underlayment, drip edge, valley metal and shingles, with the old material hauled away.
Ridge and soffit ventilation balanced properly, and step and counter flashing done correctly where the roof meets a wall.

Austin is the newest market we serve for us. We are based in Taylor and Austin is inside our core service area, so a site visit is usually within a few days of you calling — not a fortnight.
Age and extent decide it. A localised failure on a roof with years left is a repair. Widespread granule loss, cracked or curling shingles across multiple slopes, or a second layer already in place means replacement. We will show you photographs of what we found either way.
We can document the damage properly — dated photographs, a written condition report and a scope of work your adjuster can read. We do not negotiate the claim for you, and be wary of anyone who offers to.
